Refillable Lotion Packets
Two ways to have lotion in the house. A single-use sachet you tear open and throw away, and a refillable cartridge that seats into a Dispensation — the dispenser, made to your household, that the cartridge is built for.
Both come off the same production run. That is not a compromise between two products; it is the reason there can be two.
Single-use. Tear-corner. The ketchup-packet format, honestly.
For the glovebox, the gym bag, the visitor bathroom, the pew. Nobody forms an attachment to a sachet and nobody should. It is there, you use it, it is over. We spent a long time arguing that this was beneath us. It was not beneath us. It was simply cheap, and we had confused the two.
Refillable cartridge. Fitted dispenser. Made to a household.
The cartridge is the consumable. The Dispensation is the thing it seats into, and the Dispensation is yours: sized, finished and marked for the house it lives in. This is where the loyalty actually lives. Offer a customer an identical replacement packet and they will take it without blinking. Offer to swap out their Dispensation and you will find out very quickly that it is not interchangeable.
Everyone who has priced a lotion packet has priced the wrong thing. The cost is not in the packet, it is in firing up the line, which is why the same twenty thousand dollars buys five hundred thousand of them or a million of them. Once the line is running the packets are close to free. So there was never an economic argument against a disposable one, and no reason to make only one kind.
A Dispensation is an arrangement for a period, under which a household is provided for. We are aware that the word is spoken for elsewhere. We are using it in the older sense, and in the plainer one: something is dispensed, on terms, to whoever is under the arrangement.
The line is committed and not yet running. There is nothing to buy on this page and there will be no order form here until there is stock behind it. Which lotion suits a sachet and which needs a cartridge is a question of viscosity, and that work is already underway.
